Baking and Burning — It Never Fails

I have two desserts that I know are sure-fire crowd-pleasers.  One is made-from-scratch chocolate cream pie. Labor intensive, rich, dreamy.  The other is carrot cake.  Spicy, carroty, homey, and topped with not-too-sweet cream cheese frosting.

Huzzy’s clients (and family) were here for lunch the other day. Carrot cake seemed a good match to the soup/salad/sandwich fest.

There was one slice left over after lunch because everyone requested to take some home.

Here is the recipe. David Lebowitz is a genius.

I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

To. Die. For. (This is before giving two last take-home slices.)
