I am ready for Spring and for healthy kids. I am ready to push open the windows and let the new air swirl in the house, replacing the weary breathed-out, used up air inside. I am ready for my little ones to not need a tissue or a spoonful of cough medicine or ginger ale.
I surrender, winter. I see the peeks of sunshine on today’s snow. My knitting quickly has turned to lighter weights and lighter colors. It’s time for pastels and asparagus and fresh rhubarb and cheeks pink from running outside.
Until then, the soup is on and the children propped under blankets.
We wait.
