Deep Cleaning

I just called the dentist to schedule a follow-up appointment from my last visit about 6 weeks ago.

Apparently, they’d made a notation in my chart, because I was asked, “When is your due date?”

I stumbled a bit before saying, “I’m not pregnant, I had a miscarriage.” The poor receptionist fell all over herself trying to find the right words.  I told her it’s ok, she didn’t know.

I cried after hanging up. It was the first time since I first started miscarrying on July 4.

The deep cleaning is next week. At least there’s anesthesia for that.
